Having used smart home solutions for many years, I set out to develop my own UI for my smart home. I wanted to be able to control devices based on the room or device type within my home, without needing to use voice commands. Whilst Home Assistant, my platform of choice has a default dashboard, the UI is sluggish and very ugly and hence I created my own.
Using my knowledge of Yaml and CSS, I started to code a custom UI for my smart home devices.
